Emergencies Operations Committee, Release 4.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) communicates to the certificated air operators and dealers in Ecuador, the dispositions issued on march 14, 2020 by the Emergencies Operations Committee (COE), about the Sanitary Emergency declared because the coronavirus, for the air transport sector.
Since Sunday, march 15, from 23:59 is suspended the entrance to the country of the people of foreign nationality who arriving in Ecuador, by air, sea or land. Likewise, Ecuadorian citizens who are abroad may return and enter the country only until 23:59 on Monday, March 16 of the current year.
In the next hours, until the start of the execution of these new measures, in order to prevent the virus expansion and take care the health of the citizens, the people who arrive to the Ecuador, must comply with the medical review, or the mandatory preventive isolation, as the current protocols. The crew of each airline won´t get into the mandatory preventive isolation. They will use their own protocols and procedures to comply their flight schedules and guarantee the connectivity. However, if the crew members present coronavirus symptoms, will be applied the protocols established by the Public Health Ministry.
The cargo flights will operate normally getting in and out from the Ecuador, to guarantee the commercial activities, and avoid the shortage of products in the county.
For 21 days from the date of the communication, the date could be extended, all charter or private flights will be authorized, if they enter empty to take passengers from Ecuador to the different destination points or connections.
Internal flights will be maintained normally and with the application of the corresponding security protocols. The DGAC reiterates its compliance with providing technical and logistical support at airports for the tasks of the health brigades and thus preventing the spread of the virus in the country.
The national government calls on citizens to remain calm and comply with the measures ordered. and asks to inform themselves through official channels and not spread false news.
